The function of a feeder pillar is to receive electrical energy from a transformer and distribute it to multiple outgoing circuits via fuseways, providing each circuit with protection and control. Resembling a large steel wardrobe, the feeder pillar’s outer body can be either double-walled or single-walled and is mounted on a steel base. It typically contains ammeters, selector switches, whole house surge protectors, service fuses, and instrument panels with voltmeters.
